AN AFGHAN CHOORA KNIFE,
circa 1850, of typical form with straight single-edged 10 1/2in. blade of 'T' profile, engraving and moulded lines to the back-edge, the hollowed sides of the blade inlet with yellow metal sunbursts and tip and forte, the remainder of the forte etched with a checkerboard design of quatrefoils, both designs encompassing false signatures, fully engraved and embossed white-metal blade mounts joining to the grip-straps, four-piece hooked ivory scales held with iron rivets and split-ring to pommel, complete with its goatskin covered wooden scabbard with embossed and pierced designs and iron mounts
